Ticket vending machines constitute an element of the Bydgoszcz City Card system. They are modern devices that allow passengers to buy a ticket 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The first out of ten vending machines which will be installed in key places in Bydgoszcz are already in the city. Their installation started on September 28th. Users of the ticket vending machines do not incur any additional fees when buying a ticket. Moreover, they can pay by payment card, using banknotes or coins (according to established thresholds). The machines give change.

The Bydgoszcz City Card system is being implemented by Bydgoszcz authorities jointly with the Mint of Poland. It is a modern system of charging fees for using public transportation: instead of an ordinary paper ticket, passengers will receive a microprocessor proximity card, on which electronic time-limit tickets will be coded.
