Równocześnie informacja o kwocie transakcji trafia do systemu centralnego OPS.

Bydgoszcz City Card is a card that will enable Bydgoszcz inhabitants to use various municipal services. From September 2010, it will serve as a carrier of Bydgoszcz public transportation tickets.

Bydgoszcz City Card format resembles the traditional ATM card. On the front of the card, there is a space for the user name and photograph, and for the card identification number. Inside the card, there is an electronic memory system, which records the card user data and, from September 2010, the electronic public transportation tickets.

Bydgoszcz City Card is a contactless (touch-free) card, which means that in order to use it (buy a ticket or check the validity of the ticket), it is sufficient to bring it to an appropriate device that will decipher it (a ticket vending machine or a terminal at the ticket sales point).

The system in which Bydgoszcz City Card operates enables its development and its use as a carrier of various services. In the future, the card will enable access to various institutions (private and public). It will be possible to pay with it for entering sports, cultural or entertainment events organized by the city.

The Bydgoszcz City Card is issued free of charge (this applies only to the first card). To receive the Bydgoszcz City Card, you must apply for a card. Applications can be submitted in person at a Customer Service Centre or via the website: www.bydgoskakartamiejska.com.pl

After submitting the application, the card can be picked up in person at the Customer Service Center, depending on the place of application.

ATTENTION! In the case of an application submitted online, the card can be picked up only at the Customer Service Center. The Bydgoszcz City Card as a carrier of public transport tickets can be issued as a personal or bearer card.

In the case of applying for a named card, attach a current photo with dimensions of min. 2.5 x 3 cm (eg current photo for school / student ID card, passport or ID card). The picture for personalizing the card can also be made free of charge in a customer service centre.

In order to use the Bydgoszcz City Card as a public transport ticket, an electronic ticket should be encoded on it. Tickets can be encoded in ticket machines, ticket validators, points of sale and customer service centres.

The card with the ticket encoded on it should be carried with you when using public transport and should be presented for inspection when need be. The cards do not have to be "used" at the entrance to the vehicle.

ATTENTION ! Only the person whose data has been stored on it can use the personal card. A card without a valid ticket encoded thereon does not authorize the use of public transport. In the case of using a personal card with a discounted ticket purchased, the passenger is obliged to present a valid document confirming the entitlement/discount during the inspection.

Only long-term tickets, ie 14-, 30-, 90-day and monthly and semester tickets are encoded on the Bydgoszcz City Card.

Single and short-term tickets are available in paper form at ticket machines and at marked outlets. In addition, single and short-term tickets are available in electronic form when purchased in the SkyCash mobile application.

The presentation of a contactless payment card to a ticket inspector, which had previously been used for the purchase of a ticket in the ticket validator, is completely safe. The controller does not have access to payment card data. The payment card is only the transaction identifier. The ticket is saved in the central system. The card data is automatically encrypted when the card is tapped over a ticket validator and in a secure form (token) is stored in the central system. The inspector receives from the central system only information regarding the ticket assigned to the payment card.

Ticket validators sell single and short-term tickets only in electronic form without a printout. The ticket is assigned to a bank contactless payment card, which was purchased in ticket validator.

To buy a ticket in the ticket validator, select the ticket you want to buy, then press the "Buy and Pay" button and tap the contactless payment card to the bank reader (without entering a PIN).

Additionally, ticket validators enable:

  • checking the validity of a long-term ticket assigned in the central system to the Bydgoszcz City Card,
  • encoding Bydgoszcz City Card tickets purchased on the website www.bydgoskakartamiejska.com.pl.
